The User-friendly Post

You really find your true friends when you're in trouble.

True friends will never abandon you no matter what. True friends will do their best, or at the very least try to help you cope up with your difficulties. True friends will never cease to believe in you.

Take my case. Actually our case. We were six in a group in our Systems Development class, one is on his last sem because if he fails this subject, he can never go back to the university. We have 3 subsystems to develop, two persons for each. Me and my college best bud was assigned to the web-enabled system, and this system is the first to be accessed.

However, due to our lack of knowledge about web programming, we are on the verge of failing the subject. While we and the one on his last semester are trying to do something about the system, the three remaining connived in going to our adviser/professor in SD. The professor told them to either continue or drop our system and develop a desktop replacement. Well the good thing is that they still let us decide. But the manner, on how they told this situation to us is some kind of a crap! They just dumped us and left us with only one option: to withdraw the subject. That's what we've done, we've dropped the subject in order for the one to pass.

I wish that they would pass 'cause I don't want to deal with them anymore.

My Haul at the 2008 Manila International Book Fair

One of my many hobbies is reading, that is why I didn't miss the chance of going to the 2008 Manila International Book Fair, held at September 12-16 at the SMX Convention Center. One of my churchmates gave me passes for the event, though entrance fee is only PhP10.00 for adults and PhP8.00 for students, librarians, senior citizens (maybe) and children.

Here's what I've got:

(1) Mga Kuko ng Liwanag - Edgardo Reyes

(2) Desaparecidos - Luwalhati Bautista

(3) FHM May 2008 (covergirl: Precious Adona)

(4) Some free magazines in the NCCA Booth

(5) An essay about music from the CCP Booth

(6) Pupung 0 by Tonton Young

(7) Scent of Apples (A collection of Bienvenido Santos' short stories)

I would also like to buy the hardbound Anne Frank book. But I can't since it costs PhP1000.00. Awww... But hey, I've read the book and learned that Anne Frank's whole name is: Annelies Marie Sara Frank...

And I learned a whole lot more through that event. I'll come on the next book fair.
